Memorial Day Weekend is one of my 3 boys favorite weekends of the year because it is the annual BYU Father's and Sons Basketball Camp. It starts on Friday and goes through Monday afternoon, and they really just can't get enough. I don't know what they enjoy the most, the camp, the dorm rooms, or the popcorn shrimp and soft serve ice cream machine in the cafeteria. I hear about it all throughout the year. When I make a yummy lasagna, they always remind me that the best lasagna they have ever had is at the BYU camp after church on Sunday....thanks a lot guys. Anyway, they always come home sufficiently pooped, from lots of play and very little sleep. Sundays at the camp they take a bus up to Salt Lake in the morning to watch The Spoken Word and than they have sacrament in the Tabernacle. After which they have lunch (the good lasagna) at This Is The Place Monument. Later that evening they go to a fireside, usually with a really great speaker. Well, this is the email I received from a friend who is also at the camp, last night during the fireside. THREE SLEEPING BOYS! It must have been really good. We obviously need to go over some sleeping through meetings etiquette, you know, how to look a little more inconspicuous...I'll get my dad right on that.
Oh, and as a side note, Sam did win the free throw competition between all the dads as well as the three point competition. Coach Rose asked him if he had any eligibility left, but too bad for them he is no longer available....although secretly I think he still dreams about it at times.
